Does anyone know if (and where) you can get paraffin flamethrowers?

Iraq?

If you google, you'll find people with them acquired them immediately
after WWII.

There's always a company selling them on Ebay. About £120 iirc.

Do you mean a flame thrower (wrfare or James Bond) or a flame gun
(for weeds)? Big difference!

IME they can be both :-) . If the coil isn't good and hot before the
paraffin is turned on, great spurts of flaming paraffin shoot out all
over the place, incinerating anything within about twenty feet! Great
fun to use if you're a pyromaniac, but there are simpler ways of
getting rid of weeds IMHO. But of course, the OP may not want it for
weeds!
