Well, no, actually!
I clicked classify/kill/custom rule.

myself a few keystrokes next time ))))))

Dunno if it's an insult per say, but I note that a reply amongst this thread
was to someone who I had already kilfiled... and I'm sure it was for much
the same reasons as stated above, whilst adding foul language to that list.
I did find it laughable that someone would attack this NG on the grouds of
teaching "net nannies" a lesson.... now... if that in itself is not "net
nanny" behaviour....(and in this instance... with flashing neons)
I'm not pointing that out by way of wishing to engage in 'debate' with the
half wit. There would be no point. No futher proof of that is needed then to
point out that the troll demonstrated inconsistency of excuse. (Apart from
the wastefulness of engaging a troll!!)
Oh and this, or my next post might well be my last post...

for attention you prick.

Shame on you, the vicar may be able to save you from damnation.

The Vicar is on a well earned break at the moment. Anyone in need of
spiritual guidance should repeat "Hail the Parsnip" four times, click
their heels, and down a large glass of spirits. (He often recommends Jack
Daniels but I'm a rum man myself.)

Having done a Google search of the
www.forteinc.com domain it appears
that neither Agent nor Free Agent are able to filter out cross-posted
articles.

The only time cross-post is mentioned is in the feature comparison table
- "Cross-Post Management - Agent automatically recognizes when the same
message is posted in more than one newsgroup so you can avoid
downloading and viewing the same message twice."

Us Turnpike users will just have to keep quiet I guess. ;-)

fact out of three so called troll posts, net nannies made 75 replies
about how well their filters work, bla, bla, bla. It's the attention

I use the custom rule

/^Newsgroups:.*,/h

The result of this is that TP never even downloads the bodies of
cross-posted articles unless I request them.

However Jane, I see that you're using v4.02, whereas I'm using v6.02
which is a teeny bit different. I'm sure v4.02 had this capability (I
even think that v1.12 had it), but I'm not sure where you'd insert the
rule in v4.02.

The best place to ask will be d.i.s.t where I can see that John Stockton
is still using v4.00 and Richard Clayton is still using v5.01 which is
only slightly different from your version. Both of these fine people
(and perhaps others) will be able to give you a definite answer.
