Ginger?
I have some pieces of ginger which are beginning to sprout. Can I plant them in the ground and expect them to grow? How, when, and in what should I plant them? Alan -- Reply to alan(at)windsor-berks(dot)freeserve(dot)co(dot)uk |

Some people grow pot plants from pieces of ginger but I seem to remember folks saying its a boring plant. Diana |

... I have some pieces of ginger which are beginning to sprout. Can I plant them in the ground and expect them to grow? I had some planted outside as a test last year. They sprouted but were a bit slow. I moved them into a pot in the greenhouse and they grew much faster as you'ld expect. They are very boring to look at - just stems with grass-like leaves. Apparently the flowers aren't much to look at either. I'm keeping mine in the greehouse though so I can harvest it. Martin. |

I'll give it a try. Regards, -- Stephen Howard - Woodwind repairs & period restorations http://www.shwoodwind.co.uk Emails to: showard{who is at}shwoodwind{dot}co{dot}uk |
