Default Redbud tree in full sun ok?

I bought one the other day at Home Depot, of all places. It is 8 feet tall and
in a 5 gallon container. I paid 16 dollars for it. I felt like I was stealing!

Where to plant is, where to plant it!

My Redbud has grown in full sun for 12yrs. Like the last message said,

keep it
well watered that first year.

In general, in the south we use redbuds as understory trees. They are

less
stressed and are not as prone to get that heat of the season rust problem

which
ultimately shows up. In the north, I'd still say these are understory as
dogwoods are.
