Carol does not take advice well at all!

Oh I accept it, but myself and others are the ones that pointed out to you
the sentence you said before it.

Which sentence I said before it? ???

This one you typed:

It's useless to start a new thread as those left here don't seem to care
about people being advised to illegally kill herons.

Lately you're the only one who keeps bringing this up,

So it's now a taboo subject here?

I asked you to move it to a different thread if it interested you so much,
that was all.

Why keep bringing up the koi food issue?

Because other people are interested, not just those who want to fight the
issue. You yourself asked for more information, now you're complaining
because I'm giving/finding it?

The food thread's been going on for days now. Not meaning to sound rude
but - are we to only discuss what interests you?

OK. No use though as there isn't one person left here who would dare to
discuss it in fear of becoming another victim as I and even more people on
the reef group have become.

Well we do have the case of Koivorkian who has never been disingenuous about wanting
to make money. Vets do not NEED special training to declare themselves
"specialists". Until a person actually knows otherwise it is wise to assume that a
vet became a vet because they can make a good living at it rather than any other kind
of altruistic reasons.

OTOH, Jo Ann knows Sandy Yosha and has spoken highly of her. And she may well have
made it her business to find out as much as possible about Koi nutrition. At least
she isnt like that guy wrote for the national koi club was plagiarizing all over the
place, not giving citations and was actually a producer of koi food..... somewhere in
S. Africa I believe.

People who arent scientists (and even some scientists) often dont know how to steer
themselves clear of bias by staying out of financial arrangements with those that are
clearly going to bias them.

BTW, vets and physicians arent scientists. That is a completely different 5 year
program where taking "science classes" has less to do with it, becoming a scientist
is all about developing critical thinking and how to ask salient questions.

Why would a fish vet make something up, why would she put herself, her

Jan, Jan, Jan ... that is an ad! The only sound relationship between cholesterol and
heart disease is how much money pharmaceutical companies can make from selling their
drugs to lower cholesterol. It took them years and a lot of money before an
"independent lab" showed taking their drugs might lower the chance of a heart attack.

Like ulcers, scientist will eventually be able to determine which microbes are
responsible for heart disease (there is some idea already-
http://www.news-medical.net/?id=9071)
Cholesterol is an essential lipid component of every cell membrane in the body.
Cholesterol is a "band aid" that comes in to repair damaged cells in arteries.
Find what is damaging the cells, cure the disease. Just like find the bacteria
causes ulcers, cure the disease. bacteria is not the ONLY cause of ulcers, of
course.

So if we can find out what is eating up the brain cells in Carol
Gulley there may still be some hope for her yet......very
interesting, but I think that carol is beyond help as whatever cancer
it is that has attachjed her so bad has made any repair impossible.
She has been afflicted too many years and is more than likely past
the point of no return.

I have a feeling the moderated pond group wil be the final nail in her
coffin.............

True, but I was trying to make a statement about the content of that
particular commercial, more a statement about "looks can be deceiving". A
catfish chow fed koi can look healthy on the outside, while the inside is
getting fat deposits built up around its internal organs.
