Sorry, Remo. You fail.

Over 400 groups with "test" in their names on a typical newsfeed, and
you managed to crosspost into 5 groups that don't even have a "t", let
along "test" in their names.

Say... Aren't you the guy who tried making an advertisement for a
romance novel appear to be an on-topic post by saying something insipid
that could have been on-topic if it were in the right context? You
failed then, too.

Usenet was not invented for you to make these posts any more than the
telephone poles was invented to hold your "Loose 40 Pounds, Ask Me
How..." signs.

Sorry. I don't usually respond to trolls like RR, but I'm just in that
kind of mood today.

Funny isn't it how you can ignore something for ages and ages then
suddenly can't NOT anymore :~))

It's a bit the same with pruning..............you think :
"That plant/shrub/tree is a bit out of control but I can ignore
it....."
Then suddenly one morning you think "NO, I MUST prune it now !"

I tried to send old Remo a private email when he hit rec.gardens.roses, but
his mailbox was full (probably because he hit a *lot* of newsgroups, based
on what I turned up by doing a group-google), sooooooooo I got his attention
by reviewing his book on Amazon.com -- hey, I figured at least he might
read that!

Old Remo didn't like that one bit, nosirree.

Searched by name in Amazon,
Remo Rosati
and found the book.
And Anne's review!
The site doesn't say much about what the book is about but this
snippet gives a clue

I guess we Porgs qualify?
But do we want to be cured?
What kind of people would do an intervention with
a ponder?

Grass lovers?
Frog phobics?
People who think the only good fish is
the deep fried kind?

Here is the Porg explanation for new folks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PORG - A term used on rec.ponds from time to time. If you are a Star Trek fan,
the Next Generation specifically, you might remember the evil Borg. Half living
creatures, half robots, flying around the universe assimilating new species
into their collective. Their favorite line, delivered in cold robotic voices,
is 'resistance is futile, you will be assimilated".
We rec.ponders feel the same way about ponding. Watch out you are about to be
assimilated into the Porg collective! We will be here to help with the details.
Remember resistance is futile....
Heather wrote what is a troll?????
A troll, or his close cousin, the spammer, can be one of many things ~
a) a socially maladjusted young male who sees posting stuff and nonsense and
inflammatory comments on newsgroups as a satisfactory substitute for his lack
of beer, accommodating girls and skittles in his life.
b-a) a rabid free enterpriser who buys into the theory that 100,000,000,000
posts about his product or service will result in one person purchasing his
wares. (PS - half your post viewers don't own anything that can be
lengthened...)
b-b) the same rabid free enterpriser who thinks we can be fooled into checking
out his merchandise by pretending to be an actual poster (gardening - test
post). We've been there, done that. This troll needs an intervention by
irritated newsgroupers to stop. Rec.ponders can hold him underwater with a
hungry snapping turtle.
c) the absolute bottom dwellers, lower than leeches, bloodworms and anaerobic
bacteria - the pornographer spammer who thinks we really need to view naked
people and what they do with various and sundry farm animals. We get enough of
that with frogs breeding and koi spawning.
A troll only posts to annoy/argue and in general be a pain in the bum. You
should not respond to as troll because he/she is fed by your replies, but,
often the temptation is to great to resist
Someone here will tell you the technicalities but that it in "simple"
Now, PMFBS?
