pond in Ontario - and the winter we haven't had (yet)
My concern is forgetting the heater and it warming the tub up too much for
it to go without heat while I also maintain the temps in the hot tub. Can't run both at once. After being plugged in for almost 2 hours at 11*F this morning and only partially thawing the ice off the top, I guess it won't get them too warm at these temps. It's also the bird watering station right now, hope they don't mind salty water of 0.3%. ;o) ~ jan cover the tub and the 1000watt should do fine. It was 50o 2 days ago and then we got 4" of snow and the temp is now 7o. my 1600 gallon pond has a plastic covered lean to over it and a 500 watt heater. The water temp was 56o today, they were up sucking like crazy so I fed em again. the lilies are still green in there. I will see if the temp drops by tomorrow.
