Mike,

Took some time, but I got an answer for you, his name is Dan Corson. You
can reach him through his website at www.corsonart.com. Mention my name,
Jan Jordan and my contact Debra Prinzing, hopefully he'll get back to you.

Let me know what feedback you get. ~ jan

Thanks!

I sent an email outlining my planned setup and asked if he'd be so
kind as to comment on it.

It's been too windy here south of ATL to experiment yet, plus I had
some surgery last week that has me keeping movement to a minimum.

However, I have a couple of fresh propane tanks, a regulator, valve,
hose, and a piezo sparker that I'll mount on a stick, so I'm ready!

Got a response, Mr. Corson says I'm "on the right track", but very
little else. Very friendly note, but not much content.

Temps are good, I'm moving around better, I'm caught up on work, if
the winds die down a bit I'm thinking tomorrow is Day 1 of The Great
Boiled Fish Experiment. (Barring the possibility of my wife realizing
the size of the HoneyDo list.)

Until last week I had no fish. Now I have 13 5" and smaller
unidentified fish I bought at the bait shop. 2 died within the first 4
days, but the rest seem to be OK with the exception of one that has
most of his tail gone. Treated the pond with 2 doses of that stuff in
the blue bottle (Maleleuca?), plus hit the pond with a couple doses of
AlgaeFix just so I could see how many fish I had.

I gotta get some plants and build a filter, but no one seems to have
any plants yet.

I will document the experimentation process so that those that may
dare to follow may benefit from my hideous
immolation^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hefforts.

Just wandering, hows the "burning water" experiment coming?

We've been having some warmer weather up here in Pennsylvania. So I 've
had some time to start cleaning up outside and working on the new pond.
The grounds still too wet and frozen to start digging, so I decided to
work on the campfire. It will be about 2 1/2- 3 feet from the edge of
the pond, with the waterfall for a backdrop.
I took some pictures of the flames, they can be seen at:

http://ourkoipond.com/pond-campfire.htm

or the "Campfire Experiment" button on my home page.

My experiment with the "fire on the water" is still on hold , as there
is still an iceberg on the 500 gallon Temp. pond. It froze solid since
it is totally above ground. Meanwhile the koi have been vacationing in
the Tomb, in my basement. By the time it thaws, I hope to have the
prototype burner finished.
