My pond is an interdimensional gateway ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Should I enter the gateway or should I destroy the pond to prevent
evil aliens from outer space coming through it? |

enter the gateway or should I destroy the pond to prevent evil aliens from outer space coming through it? That's a good question. Aliens can come in handy from time to time. I don't think anyone here would object to an alien bursting out of the chest of a heron. Aliens probably would quaff whole bullfrogs raw. And raccoons, hmmm, they may be smarter than your average alien, since those aliens ended up in your pond and not the Reflecting Pool in Washington DC. On the other hand it's getting harder and harder for your self respecting alien to invade the US of A due to homeland security and all. This should probably be cross posted in BV's That Time of Year thread. |

Yes, I'm sure the orange/yellow/red thing will confuse the hell out of them. Aliens are colour blind you know. This should probably be cross posted in BV's That Time of Year thread. |

Is there some rule of thumb for gallons per alien? Good question! And do they necessarily need a hole open in the ice during the winter? Should you stop feeding them after temps get below 55??? |

Should you stop feeding them after temps get below 55??? Seeing as the probably feed on human organs, I'd vernture to say, you should not feed them at all. Or at a minimum be sure to feed them somebody that believes fish feel no pain. (Sorry George, I couldn't resist.) -- BV Webporgmaster of iheartmypond.com I'll be leaning on the bus stop post. |

Should you stop feeding them after temps get below 55??? Aliens should never be fed. If they're good aliens, you'll probably poison them - you know, left-handed amino-acids & right-handed amino-acids (you _did_ know about that, right??). They're smart enough to have travelled, at the very least, 4 light years to get here, they probably know better than us what they can eat, and they really should be capable of feeding themselves. The only time you would even consider feeding an alien is if he/she/it is too injured from the flying saucer crash to look after itself - but then, how do you know it's a good alien? imo, better to be safe than sorry. otoh, bad aliens should never be fed, because ... well, just because. -- derek |
