Hal,

The majority of my baskets are 23cm or a little over 9 inches. I have
one 12 incher.

I cut the
spikes about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long depending on the taper of the
spike. When I divide and repot plants in the spring I place two of my
home made tabs in the pot/basket with the newly repotted lily. During
the rest of the pond season I push one tab in each basket per month.

What size pot/basket do you use?

You should never let a pond dry out like that

Hi Howard
If you move plant material from GF pond to Koi pond or buy new
plants, you probably have eggs hitchhiking a ride - I have a friend in the
same boat - er pond :~

Gale :~)

I try to keep the koi and goldfish in seperate ponds. For some reason

the
goldfish seem to materialize in the koi pond. I pump my ponds dry
each spring and fall. I let the sun dry out the last of the muck and

sweep
it up with a broom and dust pan. That way I am 100% sure regarding

what
fish I stock the pond with.

Thank you so much, guys, for all the replies.
To guys in Australia, do we have pond tabs sold here? Any direction will

be
appreciated. YSL

If no pond tabs a cheap replacement is Jobe's Tomato Spikes. Preferably a
spike or tab with the middle number the highest, Ex: (6-12-6). ~ jan
