stinky nasty wild mushrooms!!!
Hi group..
Is there a site or someplace I can look up to see what the heck is growing in my yard? We live in Bastrop county, west of Bastrop. We noticed this terrible stink out in the back and thought there was something wrong with the septic. Went out there and found these really wierd, ugly and very stinky wild mushrooms..They grow up about 4" or so tall, the stem part is very thick, about an inch and is hollow. The hood part is very odd, instead of making an umbrella shape, it's very close to the mushroom and is an ugly dark green(shaped like a closed umbrella). They are usually covered with flying bugs..I am hoping to find something to get rid of them..There is no grass out there, just mulch and such..Was thinking of drenching the area with roundup..These are the stinkiest little things I have ever seen. I can have two of them in the yard and smell it all the way up on the patio... Thanks so much, John |
