fast grower recommendation please
Hi
I am looking for a tree/shrub that is a fast grower- to give more privacy from houses overlooking at back of the garden. Want something that can grow to about 20-30 feet and be fairly wide. Live in the South, very clay soil and back of garden is fairly shady. thanks R. |

Leylandii will do this very well as long as you take out the top to stop it
growing beyond the desired height, but is something of a thug and thus not generally popular with neighbours. Eucalyptus is a fast grower and much prettier. "R" wrote in message om... One unusual one to try is Azara dentata or Azara serrata, evergreen multi stem shrubs the get to around 15/18 feet and stop with a spread of around 4 m at the top. Profuse yellow petal-less flowers with garden filling scent in about 2 weeks time (in sw19). Mine has been in 6/7 years and is now those dimensions. pk |
