Default Anyone for Daffodils?

I've been keeping an eye on two clumps of daffodils growing on our golf
course near Swansea.. Since last Thursday they have been doing their best
to bloom. Today two have opened slightly showing a little of their
trumpets. Maybe tomorrow (Wednseday) they will do their bit and come out.

Anyone else having had sightings of daffodils yet?

Bill

Following the theme, there have been daffodils in flower on my local
course a few miles north of Portsmouth for about 3 weeks. In fairness,
the are amongst trees and well sheltered from the northerly winds - they
are always the first I see in bloom.

Not quite yet, but I have been interested to see that, due to the
softening of the soil by all this rain, where there is a clump of daffs
the grass has been pushed up by the emerging stalks so that it is now
about 4 - 5 inches above its original level!

The central grass verge up Broadway has lots of short green stems
popping up but doesn't look like anywhere near ready to flower.

Answering my own posting - yes today Wednesday has seen the blossoming of
the above daffodils.

It's been a long wait. Those of you who have daffodils in bloom must be
doing something right or are just lucky in your locations.

Why is it that we see so few N. bulbocodium ("hoop petticoat")? They're
an absolute delight, but the only mini they ever seem to have in the
usual places is "Tete-a-tete" (nothing against that, as it's very
pretty, but let's have some variety).

Saw daffs blooming today in the Ranelagh gardens in Paris today. In
Normandy we are a week away or so, with the warm weather moving in (18C
today).

I got mine on Ebay and they're just coming up now. No good trying to buy
any at this time of year of course.
