Hedgehog. A tale of woe.
"Christina Websell" wrote in message ... I'd much rather you bring it over. ;-)) (PS: see how good I am with a pair of sharp scissors?) It's a bit too far to come. You are a girl after my own heart, though. I used to be quite a radical feminist in the 80's-90's. I've calmed down a lot now although can occasionally spark up again. Tina No sparking up here - I hope ! We are just a collection of peace loving gardeners not used to such things. BTW --- In response to your three questions hereabouts - as they seem to be of a personal non- gardening nature, please come back them to me on my personal em address if you really need a reply. Accidents such as you've quoted are very upsetting as well as expensive, however quite rare. Over the eleven years I've been paying insurance, I shudder to think how much I've coughed up! Now I'm saving in separate a acount the amount the Insurance company wanted me to pay. I think that's a good idea, it's what I've been doing for years. Ideally, of course, you should start it as early in your pet's life as you can as barring accidents they are usually healthy until they get elderly. In the main I've always had enough in my vet account to cover what was needed. Tina Hi Tina, In retrospect I wish I had started saving years ago. I'm sure I would have been quids-in by now. My insurance company told me that my insurance ( or the excess) would rise by a set 11%/annum. My Labrador is now getting on a bit (11years 3 mths), and hopefully will keep going for a couple of years yet. Bill He's given me loads of pleasure as a pet and as a show dog having reached Cruft's one year. |

"Sacha" wrote in message ... *I* would suggest you don't try patronising two women who find you amusing. It may be your best option. Actually, it may be your only option, who knows? Indeedy - who knows. So many questions from so many, to be answered by so few. I appear to be spoilt for choice. Oh lucky "me". And so to bed - to dream of pesky pussy cats, poorly hedgehogs, happily recovered doggies and moreover, you lovely ladies who will brighten up my night. Pete |

Dear old Newton Heath Tech with eight on board my Ford- Anglia going home. Ah ! Happy memories Pete I went to Stockport College. I still remember the Prony brake test we did on electric motors in the Labs. We hit on the bright idea of 'topping up' the cooling water in another team's brake assembly whilst it was turning. Centrifugal force kept the water in until the motor stopped, and then it overflowed onto the floor. ;-) -- Gordon H Remove "invalid" to reply |

Tina Your recommendation is well intentioned and I've been turning this over and over in my mind. There are pros and cons either way. I can't get insurance for less than about £35/month with heavy excesses. I wish I had set up a "fighting" fund years ago, by now I would have had enough but by for some sort of emergency. I have set up a savings account which I hope will soon build into a decent fund. Thanks, Bill |
