Default Any smallholders out there?

"............. To do a really good job on laying takes many years. Properly
done, the hedge is cut down and allowed to regrow, and the one and two-year
shoots (where necessary) have a V of less than 90° cut out of the half of
the stem on the side you intend laying to, so that you can close the cut
right up. ......."

That's not the way I was taught..but then hedge layering is like rose
pruning..... there are many ways, all said to be the right way....... and if
it works for you then use it.

You don't say what part of the country you are.
There are several regional shows for Smallholders see 2003 show guide

Thanks. I think I may buy a few issues of that, to see what it's like.

We're in Somerset. According to the diary there's the North Somerset
Agricultural Show in May, though the advertised website appears to be
broken. The Devon County Show looks possible though. Seems the Mid-Devon
County Show website is broken, too

I notice that you're posting with Agent, which suggests to me that you
may be sensible enough not to be using IE either.

Unfortunately, a lot of these so-called web-designers don't know how to
use anything other than Frontpage and the like, and proper browsers
can't wade through the rubbish they produce.

Ahh, no, I'm not posting with Agent at all. I'm not even posting using a
Windows machine, so using IE is definitely out.

The headers said you were.

Windows machine,

You can post using Agent without using a windows machine, via Wine.
