Default Wild 'Herbs'

Hi,
I came across these plant pretty deep in the woods, it looked like someone
was cultivating it wild. You can probably guess what I thought it was, can
anyone on here either confirm or deny what im thinking? Im aware there might
be many species of similar leaf shape.

http://www.geocities.com/ldavison10/WildPlant.html

It has certainly got my curiosity aroused!
Thanks
Lee

I have no idea what that plant is*, but rumor has it that it grows wild in
the U.S., sometimes with a little help. Under no circumstances should you
dry and smoke it.

*That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I want to preserver the option of
running for the presidency here, and the electorate just hates honesty.

Judging by the slug pellets around it, it certainly seems to have been
planted their purposely, and yes, it most certainly is a cannabis plant.

It looks like a Kerria to me. It doesn't have the right leaf shape to be
cannabis.

I would wait until September or October, when it should be in flower, to be
sure of a positive ID

It's just an experiment honest. I only use it for medicinal purposes, it helps me sleep and eat toast. Please don't touch it or take the slug pellets away.

I don't know, the flowers are quite attractive and the seed-heads are
handy in autumn flower arrangements.

I agree;
I have no direct personal experience, please understand but I have extensive
knowledge of Channel 4 TV documentaries and used to listen to Bob Marley
records at parties in the 1970s. That is very very definitely C.sativa.

Certainly looks like it to me.

If in doubt, pull a leaf off, dry it out and burn it - there's no
mistaking the distinctive aroma.
If that fails to convince you, try again with a larger quantity....

I do have personal experience - not of growing it, you understand - but
I have seen the stuff at close quarters, from seedlings to something
rather tall.

That does presuppose you have already experienced the aroma..

Some unfortunate young man in Stevenage was moved out of his flat in a
tower block, following a fire, along with all the other inhabitants
while everything was repaired and dried out. Council workmen were in
and out of the place for about 3 months. Everyone was allowed to move
back in last week, under police supervision. Only then was his
cannabis hydroponics factory discovered. He's currently on bail.
Poor lad was probably on tenterhooks for 3 months worrying about his
plants being discovered, then at the very last hurdle - captured!
