Default [IBC] Crab apple root gall

I've seen no adverse effects in the growth of the trees either

but many
of the Agricultural Extension Agents and other Tree disease

specialists
state that the trees should be destroyed.

Just wondered what experience anyone else has, or if Brent

still holds
this view.

If you live in an area where apples or pears are a major
commercial crop, perhaps some concern might be warranted. I
doubt, however, that much is gonna spread from a bonsai or two.

I think I recall, though, that the dreaded Chinese (longhorn??)
beetle has spread from imported trees -- as well as crates and
packaging.

people have learned to appreciate and cherish the landscape and
its living cover will they treat it with the care and respect it
should have - Paul Bigelow Sears.
