Hope all our east coast rosers are faring well tonight. We did fine.
More water, just what I wanted! G Seriously, we did not even have a power outage, though the winds and debris hitting the house were scary. Anne and Susan, how did you fare? |

Hope you're some distance inland! Thanks, Daniel, we are, but that doesn't always stop the hurricane-force winds. This time it looks like Virginia and the DC area got it much worse. In the morning light my property is a mess with limbs and small debris, gutter caps missing from the house, but no rose losses, no house damage and most roads are clear. Thank heavens we had not had any heavy rains in the past ten days. They had in VA and that is why what they are seeing is huge, healthy trees just uprooted, no cracks, and falling on houses and cars. This is what Hurricane Fran did here. |

We did pretty well. That is, except for the sinus/ear infection that
started on Thursday. We had storm proofed the yard so no real problems there. The only injury was a butterfly bush that got knocked down by the neighbor's baby pool. *sigh* Why they didn't put in the their garage, I'll never know. Fortunately, the s.o. righted the bush, tamped down the dirt around it and it seems to be doing okay so far. As to water, it wasn't as bad as some of the rain we had earlier this year. My guess is that the winds had a heavy drying effect on the water. I know that the following day (Friday) I had to water my potted black fig tree that I had left outside through the storm as I figured its size and weight would keep it from harm.
