Default Agression .... AGAIN :-((

If you can tell me how to do that on my Mac, I'd be glad to!

the first result when searching Google for 'Microsoft-Entourage
killfile' is an article recommending switching to Mozilla Thunderbird
(is that available for the Mac?)

MacSoup certainly has 'an easy to use' Killfile facility (snip)

"X-no-archive-yes" is different from a killfile ,it controls the
destination of outgoing usenet posts not incoming ones. IIRC it became
available when google acquired dejanews (the original usenet archive)
before google expanded the archive to became a full usenet portal. Now
that google has become a usenet portal, they do show X-marked posts
but only for 7 days. gardenbanter doesn't show them at all.

I can acces the post-marking facility through the options toolbar
supplied by my newsreader and a click on a box sets it to appear
automatically in every post. But those who don't have an automated
facility, can just type in manually at the top of each post
"x-no-archive-yes" and it will work just as well.

The message om
from "Martin Bonner" contains these words:

Well maybe. It would certainly mean that people wouldn't be able to
search Google Groups for old threads.

Most garden related topics have been covered several times over, so
they'd find some gems from the past. Though I get the impression that
few newbies nowadays bother to use the usenet search facility anyway.

I think I was; that was a long time ago.
