Actually supermarket workers don't buy food at the same prices as
others now. They get a staff discount and, sometimes, a share of the
profits.

Never heard of a charity shop worker getting staff discount or profit
share though.

I wonder how many gardeners would think of going into a charity shop
to buy plant labels? They probably wouldn't even notice them stuck in
a bag at the back of a shelf or buried in some rummage bin on the
floor.

Chances are that every one of us has, at some point in our lives, had
a stroke of luck just because we happened to be in the right place at
the right time. So I'm with Kathy on this. She's done absolutely
nothing at all wrong.

I'll just remember that if I have any good fortune, I must not mention
it here.

Cheers, Jake

Perks? What an outrage against civilised society. How about librarians
who get the pick of the new books. Builders who do work in their own homes
and don't even have to pay for the labour. I've even heard of teachers
helping their own kids with homework. It's no wonder this country is
going to the dogs, speaking of which, sick dogs owned by vets get seen
FREE out of hours without an appointment.

I'll just remember that if I have any good fortune, I must not mention

Quite right too. And any urgler who ever grew a free plant from a
cutting or saved seed, should apologise to all the nursery owners here
for cheating them out of an income.

Janet.

Janet you didn't mention the Church Goers/Football/Rugby/Netball/Gardening
Club who 'network' with other Church Goers/Football/Rugby/Netball/Gardening
Club members and give backhanders or special rates because 'they are in the
same community/club/organization'.

Do you know, I went and did a telephone job for another member of The
Friends of Shanklin Theatre and I didn't charge her AT ALL.

Isn't that shocking?

Mike

Ah, but they make up for it with free plants for their own gardens
