Certainly a good reason to watch the Rugby.

Just off the Dutch coast It's gusting to Beaufort 11 and blowing a
steady force 9.

Sunny intervals between rain being hurled horizontally across the
garden. Not gardening weather!

God's pruning! Lots of small branches and twigs, will be useful for my bread
oven.

Windy here too, with occasional drizzle, but it's done some good, it's blown
any surface muck on our pond all down one end making it easy for me to net
it all out. Of course it did blow the net inside out at one point and I got
it straight in the face. :-(
Suns out right now.

In Utrecht centre of The Netherlands. Cold wet and windy here too for the
first day of spring meteorologically speaking!!!

My taller daffodils are suffering: all are bowing their heads and a few have
given up and lie on the ground.

The buoy that measures wave heights off Lundy has blown away.
Elsewhere in the Bristol Channel waves are 5 metres high.

Chilterns: mostly sunny, but have already had to rescue the dustbin
lid, the Christmas tree (potted, but still not too heavy to blow over)
and various bits of other tree. We lost all the trellis and the
honeysuckles in the last bad blow, so at least they're not going to go
again. So far we still have a TV aerial, and I am glad the car's
hiding in the garage.

At least something is happening in season - given we should get gales
at equinox time.

I was feeling a little smug because it has been O.K. if a little windy here
in Felixstowe.
However, it is starting to pick up a little so we may yet get blown away.

Waaaaaaaaaaah, me greenhouse has bit the dust. Half the panes of glass have
blown out and smashed to pieces. Greenhouse contents strewn all over the
place. Woe is me!

Here in Derby I came home to find a horizontal Ash tree! Lots of sawing to
do in the morning. At least it was well away from the house but I suspect a
new fence is required. Carrying plants in and out of the Alpine Garden
Society show in Tottington, Lancashire was entertaining. My dwarf Prunus was
trying to imitate a snow shower.

I always open the door and roof vent when it's really windy. I'm sure I
heard somewhere that it helps prevent the sudden difference in pressure
between the inside and outside, which blows the glass in or out. It may be a
myth but it's worked so far today even though it's raining roof tiles...
