Mike there is only about 7% of all old growth forests left in the United
States. Most of the North west was logged off in between 1910 and
1930.

Even in old growth timber, you cannot hide indefinitely. There was an
Ultra Light aircraft that was supposed to be flying over the south of
Union Mills Oregon that didn't come back. Nobody had a clue were it
went down. With in two years it was found on the slopes of Mt. Hood in
Old Growth Timber, by hunters.

My point is ANAL (anagram for Alan) Connor is not hiding in the forest.
It just cannot be done in 21st century America.

Tell it to Eric Rudolph (in the mountains of North Carolina)
and hundreds of others that have skillfully eluded the
vengeful.

%%%% Eric Rudolph had his camp 200 yards behind a strip mall in Murphy N.C.
He was fed by the dumpsters and people sympthetic to his plight.
When captured his camp was well stocked with groceries. He had been seen
many times in the town of Murphy N.C. but because of his beard he was not
recognised. Doesn't sound like living in the wildwood flowers to me!!

"I might've seen him a hundred times. I wouldn't know him from Adam," says
Charles Franklin, a life-long valley resident mowing a park near Rudolph's
camp on Fires Creek.

Eric Robert Rudolph is accused of setting bombs at a gay nightclub and the
Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and at an family planning clinic in Birmingham, AL.
Two people died in those blasts, and a nurse at the clinic was maimed & blinded.

yes he was an extreamist. I mena i hate the way tech destroyed my life I

share alot more with 50 year old then guys my own age because I grew up with
little tech & a low tech life ain't better then a more tech life. You still
have the same social problwms they are just expressed in different ways
worst of all he had a degree, i would have killed for half his opurtunties
too learn as a kid. reading up on that other guy though, I don't think he
did anything special he did what any lunatic can do kill people who
disagree with his opinion. debate is the spice of life & our combined
perspective views can give a 360 degree veiw of any issue.

I don't know who you've been talking to, but once this civilization breaks
down, you are going to have to worry about things like food and shelter
and heat and light and water and clothing and soap and utensils and tools.

Which is why I've settled near a Wal-Mart that delivers!

If your idea of defense is to have some guns around and try to shoot anyone
that attacks you, then you just aren't going to last long.

Yeah, those Pizza Hut delivery guys get fiesty when you tip them with
live rounds.

You'll have a LOT of work to do, and IF the bandits can locate your place,
they aren't going to stand at the top of a nearby ridge and yell a
challenge to you.

They are going to shoot you in the back from 150 yards away while you are
chopping wood or carrying water and that's the end of that.

Or set booby-traps along the trails you frequent.

And they won't stop until you buy some of their goddam cookies,
the little brown-skirted bitches.

The Viet Cong basically defeated the Americans with sniping and booby-
traps....

That and having an enemy who refused to fight an offensive war and
set a strategy based on not winning.

Forget about the guns. That approach only works in the movies and sometimes,
in the short run, for large, organized communities that are wealthy enough
to have a standing army of one kind or another.

Yes, don't fight back! Catch the bullet with your teeth and spit it out
like a real man.

With nothing to steal, and no fight, they won't hang around for long,
and if you don't seriously hurt any of them, they won't have vengeance
as an excuse to return.

That's why homeless guys never get mugged!

No ordinary group of people with guns can expect to be able to
make a living after the collapse and defend themselves from armed
and experienced bandits or large bands of desperate refugees, with
those guns.

Ah. I see. Ordinary guys with guns can't hold a candle to
*starving* ordinary guys with guns.

Those that adopt this strategy are not likely to live for long,
and the time they do have will not be very pleasant.

I've stocked up on Folinari Merlot, and am ready for the end
of time!

to kill 30 or 40 rampaging bandidts)
