Of course, it seems we have a new party now, The Liberal Left. Amazing. And just who is the voice of the Liberal Left? Even Kennedy is all for compromise with Dubya on the senior drug issue. Lieberman is a quasi-Republican, so why bother considering him. Gephardt is Missouri's Stassen. Edwards has too many ties to his days of injury lawsuits. Graham of Florida is a possibility, but he has the personality of cold oatmeal. Kerry is a married to the Heinz fortune. Gore blew his wad when he lost a sure thing. Dean of Vermont would do nothing in the South, but I like him. Who else is available? The only one of the Democratic politicos who has the ovaries to go after Dubya is Hillary. The problem is that the electorate either love or hate her, although her poll numbers are now a positive 43% that doesn't win an election. What I would like to see is enough Democrats go after Dubya about "weapons of mass destruction" so that it becomes an election issue. I have a feeling that the Republicans are really squirming over this issue. John |

Hillary is not going to run, she made that clear in several interviews this week. I don't know how an election debacle turned into "Gore blew his wad..." when clearly the popular vote was his. I also fully agree about WMD, as they now call it with loving adoration. If you notice when dub speaks now, he says "...we know they HAD weapons of mass destruction..." As if this was a past inquiry. The whole lot of them suck the big one. Bush is patting soldiers on the head when he himself went AWOL. Eh. |

wcbanta wrote: Global warming produces many different effects worldwide. some areas may get wetter, some drier, some warmer and some colder. For example, increased melting of Arctic glacial deposits could dilute the cold northern seas and cause the Gulf Stream to sink, causing and unlivable cold climate in northern Europe. El Nino is another example - it makes some Pacific islands very wet and cooler while it warms the surrounding seas and kills marine life by the millions of tons. It also makes for wet winters in the US. The earth is not simple. Fox News and Rush Limbaugh are simple. -- And it's not nearly as simple as the global-warming chicken little's make it out to be either. You mention the shrinking Arctic glacial deposits -- what about the growing Antarctic and Greenland deposits? If there is global warming, why is there a net *increase* in ice and a net *lowering* of the sea level? http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/viewrecord?11526 The global warming hysteria is built on models that simply don't work, and global warming hysterics are forced to plead to explanations that accept *any* data. Things are getting warmer? It's global warming!!! Things are getting cooler? It's global warming!!! Is the sea level rising? It's global warming!!! Is the sea level lowering? It's global warming!!! The amusing thing about the argument that Arctic melting causes paradoxical global cooling is that the *opposite* argument also holds -- that Arctic melting that causes global warming. See: http://www.globalwarming.org/sciup/sci10-2-02.htm Personally, I'll wait another 20 years to hear the hysterics go back to the global cooling scare, like they were 20 years ago: http://www.globalclimate.org/Newsweek.htm billo |

Hey, no argument from me on any of what you said. Hillary is not going to
run, she made that clear in several interviews this week. I don't know how an election debacle turned into "Gore blew his wad..." when clearly the popular vote was his. Yes, Gore did have the popular vote, but Dubya got the electoral votes. What irks me about Gore is that he so busily running away from Clinton that he refused to use him where he would have made a big difference. He was much too pious for his own good. In addition, Gore failed to carry his home state which would have given him the election without Florida. Gore and his handlers ran a really stupid campaign. Dubya didn't win the election; Gore lost it. I also fully agree about WMD, as they now call it with loving adoration. If you notice when dub speaks now, he says "...we know they HAD weapons of mass destruction..." As if this was a past inquiry. Maybe if he ignores his exact words, they'll go away if he changes the tense? Or did we misunderstand his pronunciation? :-) So far no one is really holding his hands to the fire on this issue. What I would like to see is a group of Democrats assemble and start impeachment proceedings against Dubya for lying to the American people and the world . After all, the Republicans impeached Clinton for lying about sex. Isn't it far more logical to impeach a President for lying about a situation where American lives were lost and are still being lost? John The whole lot of them suck the big one. Bush is patting soldiers on the head when he himself went AWOL. Eh. Watch for all these patting on the head shots in next year's Republican campaign. Those and cheering soldier as Dubya appears with be exploited to the max.... |

Dubya didn't win the election; Gore lost it. Point taken. Slick, Gore was not. Not to mention that dub had the entire political right on his side on the radios 24/7 touting the graces of the Bush family. Let's see: The twins of dub are alcoholic-like in that they use fake id in and around Austin where they are very recognized and clearly people know they are not yet 21. Jeb, the brother/governor of Florida has a daughter who is cocaine addicted, I believe crack, specifically...and was arrested. Dub himself had an alcohol/gambling problem and though he said he stopped, never went for therapy or any other type of character building act. He was AWOL from the military, and he landed with a pilot on a ship a month ago with a way too tight flight suit so his meat and vegetables were all a bulge. Now I need a shower. It appears nobody is holding his hand to the fire, but we will see what happens in 04. I am hoping that this is the biggest turn out of all time and we have a great democratic candidate (who I can't tell) and we get him out of office. I would love the impeachment process because he indeed lied, or his "intelligence" lied, or someone lied and continues to lie, but I don't think it will happen. Watch for all these patting on the head shots in next year's Republican campaign. Those and cheering soldier as Dubya appears with be exploited to the max.... The photo ops are already in place with the head rubbing and solemn face of a president. Yick I can't stand this guy. |

When is that dude going to get his furnace fixed? Maybe he should just turn
it off now? You know that Algore has got his brain safely stored away in a lockbox and only Tipper has the key!! The only reason Dubaya was "elected" president was because of all those "hanging chads" in his brother's state and the supreme court rolled over and played dead!!!! Sit UBU, sit. ARF. Good boy! Have you noticed that the "Bush twins" look nothing like each other. One looks more like his brother Jeb! Its good to know that brothers can help each other out in a time of need! animaux wrote in message ... One of my Democratic friends used the term "weasel" describe him. At one time he was a brown stoat, but he has turned to a white weasel for the Christian right. The black tip on the end of his tail still gives him away, which still makes him the champion of the party by the rich, of the rich, and for the rich. All the other stances he takes are postures he takes to win the sound bite war and gain votes from single issue voters. |
