I found with Turnpike certain authors/posters would be the ones that cross posted/flamed so you could killfile them automatically, still trying to work out how to do this in TB You can actually specify for each newsgroup a rule to kill any post to more than "n" newsgroups where "n" is user defined. I kill anything cross posted on most groups. -- bert |

Good job i cashed in my Nectar points! Because it isn't. It's a misinterpretation of what was actual forecast. And if I'm wrong you can have all my nectar points also. -- bert |

Janet writes As of 3pm this afternoon demon won't connect me to my only newsgroup in the world so i am clanking through this via Google groups which is THE most tortuous procedure I have ever experienced but I WILL NOT BE BEATEN After many man years I kicked Demon into touch earlier this year and went with the oft maligned BT. Looking at the shambolic state of affairs with Demons new e-mail stem and now news I think I did the right thing. -- bert |

Oo-er missus, things can't be that bad. Is this the beginning of the end of the civilised world as we know it? Hasn't happened here yet... Use news.eternal-september.org or pay £10/annum and use news.individual.net Agreed. BTW news.individual.net is EUR10/year or about eight squid not ten. Very effective spam filering on news.idividual.net as well, like I only see spam when someone reposts or follows up to it. -- Cheers Dave. |

How about author? Yes - you can filter out by author, date, subject, etc. You can also filter on things you _want_ to see, such as posts by certain people, or threads in which you have participated. Now that my niece doesn't no longer lives in Beijing, I've blocked any posts with Chinese addresses. Anything with the words 'cheap watches' gets binned, too. extend that to anything with "cheap" I think that might be a mistake. People do sometimes post about cheap plants/seeds/tools etc. Agree. It was the two successive Great News Snaffus that made me start looking for someone more reliable. After a couple of abortive trials with other ISPs I moved to Plusnet who have, in the main been sound. For those that need to take advantage of it they do have very good support. They have just launched some interesting competitive packages - 5.99 a month for 10GB or 9.99 per month for ~unlimited~ usage. They also do some good phone inclusive deals, one of which i have just moved to. -- rbel |
