yes Mum
"Kay" wrote in message ... In article , Andy writes There's ten years of cat problems and methods of getting rid of them here, we've been over this thousands of times: I apologise!! But as a first time poster to your newsgroup I really wouldn't have known!! Before posting to *any* newsgroup, it is advisable to lurk awhile and see if the groups is really about what you think it is (to see what I mean, try lurking in uk.rec.sheds or alt.fan.british.accent). If you had done that you would have seen the weekly 'abc for newcomers' thread which would have told you more about the group and pointed you towards the FAQs. -- Kay "Do not insult the crocodile until you have crossed the river" |

@individual.net: P.S. You weren't talking to me, were you? Sorry, no, the poster you quoted! If I'm going to be that rude (or accurate) I should probably be a bit clearer about the target, or people could get splattered on the walls by friendly fire ;-) Victoria -- gardening on a north-facing hill in South-East Cornwall -- |

sacrifice of the many peoples involved in the last world war is in the most appalling taste. So a remembrance service for those who survived the war, to remember those who joined up with them as 17, 18 and 19 year olds in the 1940's, but failed to return and gave their lives that you can have free speech and not be under the Swastika is poor taste is it? I will remember you and your sick thoughts on Sunday. Mike |

I am shocked and disgusted that someone of your age and capability of remembering can have the same feelings. And I should imagine many more of 'your followers' and co owners will be shocked as well. What do you do when the Poppy Sellers approach you? Cross over on the other side of the street? and do you turn the TV off at the Remembrance Service at the Royal Albert Hall? And the Sunday at the Cenotaph? All those who served in the war and remember their old comrades? Turn your cheek? Mike Bloody disgusted |

All those who served in the war and remember their old comrades? Turn your cheek? I know I shouldn't break the habit of ignoring your many more rampant posts... ....however, just to be helpful, you ought to realise that no-one here has even hinted that the sacrifices made by many in ww2 are not immense and important. You have apprently taken extreme offence to someone making a joke (which, the last time I looked was compatible with a free society). Worse, you have then jumped with leaden boots straight to the conclusion that anyone that disagrees with you - whether the posts you make, or your style - is disrespectful of veterans. Only someone that is far too close to looking for offence to back up some sort of victimization complex could draw such conclusions. You seem to be trying to imply that if someone disagrees with you, they are disgusting, ungrateful varmints because they don't appreciate the sacrifices made by others. Vermin, even. However, usenet is not your back garden and does not have any intelligent ultrasonic devices. Appearances can be deceptive, but the perception is that you *seem* to be trading on an interminably trumpeted association with military reunions to achieve glory by association. I have bad news for you. Your tirades against many group readers do not compare favorably with the Dunquerque spirit and backs to the wall bravery that you seem to think they do. By the way, I seem to recall that "turning your cheek"(as quoted above) has some rather positive associations. Not what you meant, I suspect. But there could be a lesson in there for you. -- regards andyw |

Unfortunately, those who spout off most about freedom of speech are those who abuse it most and should have their mouths stitched up, IMO. Unfortunately, they're usually the ones who cite the courage of others as their right to abuse their freedoms. I, like probably everyone else here, had relatives in that war. He's not even doing that. He's trying to make money out of them. -- Sacha (remove the weeds for email) and once again you are wrong. I am retired and this is my hobby. I have my car expenses paid for me and my ferry fares to/from the Isle of Wight. A hobby is where you 'spend' money, not one where you intend to make it, unlike your signature for your business. We are not all tarred with the 'money making' brush I will accept your apology. |
