Yet another new business. Will it be any more successful than any of
the others?

No doubt it will be given the experience I have :-))

What happened with the travel agency where you used to be organising
forces reunions? Did they chuck you out because they couldn't stand
your attitude?

""Travel Agency""? Sorry you have something wrong there. I have never had a
Travel Agency.

"Reunion Organiser" ? Maybe you are a little confused. Two different things,
perhaps you can blame your confusion on a little too much 'Christmas
Spirit'?

'Ex Service Reunions' are going extremely well thank you, the secret in any
good business is 'recommendations' and because of the effort and expertise
put in to making the event an enjoyable one, the ex service fraternity
recommend that those not familiar with what I do, to contact me :-))

To show just how successful they are, in October, there were eight reunions,
three weekends holding two at a time!! In such places as Bournemouth, Isle
of Wight, Llandudno, Scarborough, Torquay, Chichester, Folkestone and
Blackpool and in December, one on the Continent!

I sincerely hope you are a little more wiser now, but please do not hesitate
to come back to me if you are still in any doubt whatsoever.

Kindest regards

Mike

I'm not particulary young but do have to earn.

Retirement prospects are grim for the baby boomers.

Aye, I found out earlier in the year that they have sneaked another year
onto my retirement age, I now have to wait until I'mm 66 before I get the
state pension.

:-( It makes it tough if you are forced into early retirement before
the, as we were. I had to scrape from age 58 until I received the
State pension + SERPS at 65, and we were lucky enough to have 10% B.S.
rates to put our lump sums into at that time.

If the state pension still exists by then, I hope it does
for me but for those less than 40 I'd be half making the assumption that
it won't by the time they reach retirement age.

I'm afraid you may be right.
My daughter is 46, and I have told her not to assume that a future
government won't do something to reduce her Local Government F.S.
pension during the next 20 years or so.
Private sector company schemes have been slashed thanks to G.B. and
other factors, and Public Sector pensions are going to be more than the
next generation of tax payers are willing to pay for.

:-)) I asked them to remove me because it made it looked as if I was on the
payroll. I 'work in conjunction with and advisor/consultant' is a better way
of putting it ;-))
So sorry to spike your guns.

I would give up now if I were you and don't follow in the footsteps of those

Ho Ho Ho, as Father Christmas would say.
That's about as credible as your crap about having so many friends
that you have to start Christmas a week early.
The saddest thing about you is that you probably do believe your own
stories. Well no-one else does, that's for sure.

As a business you can put the price of your goods up.

As the President of two ex Service Associations, it will hit the
retired,
especially those who have served their country.

Pensioners hit AGAIN :-((

Mike

Maybe you should of thought about that when you were young and earning.

He did - like the rest of us who are now pensioners but this thieving
load of *******s has stolen the £43bn surplus from the National Insurance
pension fund and used it illegally to fund other expenditure thereby
keeping income tax down in a bid to win the next election. Furthermore
they have already earmarked the future estimated £110 bn surplus, which is
why they keep telling you younger people that there will be a problem when
you retire.

This subject is totally off topic, but anyway my thoughts are that the
majority of pensioners are doing o.k alot have or had property with alot of
equity to fall back on & not doing to bad from the state.
For todays young generation they have no chance of the fortunate times of
the past, they are more likely to find themselves in neg equity & in debt
with no private pension.
So i am sure a few pence going to Royal mail for what i think is a superb
service is not going to break the bank.

We would be lost without them .

As you say it is going a bit off topic. I will only comment that like a
lot of people talking about pensions and pensioners you are totally
ignorant of the true situation.

I agree, but my local PO has closed.
I will buy a stock of stamps before the price increase, as a hedge.

There, nicely back on topic.

However, it is a blow to thousands of pensioners who are in a less
fortunate position than I. My 2nd class stamps cost me about a
tenner this year, there goes £10 of food for some, and that's before you
buy the cards.

I see the function of a Christmas card as being a means of conveying your
greetings to those you won't be seeing to wish them a happy Christmas in
person. The practice of workmates knocking out bundles of cards to people
they're going to be working with up to Christmas eve, and who they've just
been to a party with, drives me nuts.

Happy new year.

Must admit my neighbours shove cards through, but the 11 originals are
down to 8 now...

We avoid going to our usual dance venues just before Xmas, which stops
the silly practice of swapping cards. Some even take a selection
of blank cards and write them out as required!

AAAARRGGHHH!
