Default Wild Flower Walk in Cyprus

Hello. We are organising a day trip to hunt for the wild flowers of Cyprus in a couple of weeks. This will be led by Professor James Fitzmaurice of the University of Sheffield and the author and newspaper gardening writer Patricia Jordan. If you are in Cyprus on 16 March you would be very welcome to join us.

You have the childrens prices wrong

Children (age 1-17) ¤17.58

Infants (age 0-10) free

I would love the walk and plants walk but would never join a five-
hour botanical walk in any group that includes small children; they will
soon be tired and bored stiff and a whining PITA to unrelated adults who
are there for the flowers.

I think it's very unlikely very young children would join the group, but the booking engine defines children in a restricted way as anyone under 18. I don't think any reasonable person could imagine the type of "child" who is say 15, 16 or 17 and who likes wildlife enough to go on a day trip like this, is likely to whine.

I think that is implied in the price isn't it. Unless you have some very low cost flights to Cyprus from Holland.

Snip

Since we are dissing the SPAM instead of just ignoring it...........

I note further that adults are classed as age 1-99.

Which in turn makes me wonder how old you have to be qualified as an OAP!

Also if (as this is posted on a UK site) this fall foul of the age
discrimination legislation as people over the age of 99 seem to be
excluded, or at least not classed as adults.

Unless, of course, you have to prove you are 100+ to get the OAP rate.

All in all, a very unprofessional bit of SPAM.

I, for one, will not be booking.

Cheers

It does say, quite specifically, "if you are in Cyprus on 16 March",
which is very fair warning that nothing else is included/provided.

Why do you think it is spam? Apart from the missing "AD" in the
header, it's not really a charterbuster. A wildflower day trip itself
is potentially relevant to UK gardeners who might be visiting Cyprus...
if the organiser gets his act and amateurish webpage together.

One of the people mentioned as a leader of the group is Pat Jordan;
she is well known and accredited in Scottish gardening circles. I've
been to her (fantastic) previous garden in Scotland and met her. She now
lives in Cyprus.

So any firm with garden related holidays, gardening products even garden
books, can advertise here free of charge?
I think not,
There have been enough comments here when someone mentions a new product
they have produced.

Yes, if they comply with the group charter.

I think not,

How many years have you been posting here, how many times has this
been repeated!

"Advertising
Advertising is not welcome, with the following exceptions:

Suppliers of UK-relevant gardening equipment, services or plant
material may post a pointer to their website or invitation to request a
catalogue. This may not exceed four lines. This may be posted no more
often than once every three months. The subject line should begin "AD"
or "ADVERT".

The OP, posted two lines with a link, pointing readers to their
website advertising a garden related service relevant to UK gardeners on
holiday in Cyprus. All he missed, was the "Ad" in header.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge and wide screen monitor, or do you
just use very small print?
